Good News Club

You may be wondering just what the Good News Club is… This should help answer your questions.

The Good News Club is a Bible based club held at the end of the school day. They meet one day a week for an hour in a school classroom or designated area provided by the school. New Hope Bible Baptist Church sponsors the club in the Point Pleasant Intermediate School. The club teaches God’s Word, we share a weekly missionary story, pray, memorize Scripture verses, learn new songs, play games and furnish a snack at each meeting. It’s a great opportunity for the children to learn about our Lord Jesus Christ and the good news of the gospel.

CEF “Child Evangelism Fellowship” is a national organization with an office in Huntington, W.V.  They are the parent organization of the Good News Club.  They furnish the literature, by laws, insurance, and do all the background checks of the GNC teachers and helpers.  The school sends out the GNC notices to the student’s homes, as well as, sign-up forms to be returned to the school. These forms provide us with necessary information, such as emergency phone numbers and a list of parents or guardians that have permission to pick up a child.  The forms also lists any special needs of the child such as special medical conditions, food allergies, etc.Two adults are always present with a child or children.  Two adults will stay at the school until all the children are picked up by their parents or guardians.

Good News Clubs are in all of the grade schools in Mason County and also in a number of schools in Putnam and Kanawha Counties in West Virginia and in Gallia County in Ohio.
